Moe Bowstern will read from her ongoing zine series Good Night People of Earth, celebrating the release of a paper version of the pandemic-born, social media-based daily digest. From March 2020 through July 2021 Moe addressed fellow people of earth as we went through lockdown, police riots, wildfires, house defenses, holidays, and pandemic life, summing up each day in 350-365 words. Hundreds of people started or ended their days reading these brief, potent, frequently poetic missives. Thanks to funding from RACC and the Oregon Community Foundation, printers Sharita Towne and Christina Martin at nun press allow Moe to offer the first eleven issues in gorgeous risograph editions with original cover art from George Wilson and Orla Kren Pierce.
Activist, student and tarot reader Miguel Louis joins Moe to read from his memoir A Long Hot Summer In The Pacific Northwest: On the George Floyd Uprisings. Each author will read for about 15 minutes before opening a conversation. Zines and books are available for purchase.
