Our house band plays every other Tuesday around 7:00 or so. The band is comprised of variations, portions, and interpretations of Left on Tenth and their associated acts. In recent months, we have used this medium to highlight individuals from the band. This month we turn the spotlight onto Ian Bailey, typically on guitar and vocals. His vocal range includes English, Spanish, and nonsense. He learned Spanish during his time at the Buddhist temple in Tibet where his closest friend was a fellow acolyte from Granada, Spain. Ian and Sancho were expelled from the temple because they kept adding jamon to everything. After leaving the temple, Ian committed himself to music. Although he can’t read, he is able to read music in all formats including tablature and Byzantine chant sheet music.
